Agniveer Agnipath Scheme 2025
The Agnipath Scheme was officially launched by the Government of India on 14 June 2022 as a transformative short-term recruitment model for the Indian Armed Forces. Under this scheme, selected candidates, known as Agniveers, are recruited to serve in the Army, Navy, and Air Force for a period of four years.
Every year, lakhs of aspirants apply to become Agniveers. After successfully completing the four-year tenure, up to 25% of the best-performing Agniveers are offered the opportunity to continue in the armed forces as part of the regular cadre, paving the way for a long-term military career.
📋 Key Features of Agnipath Scheme 2025
- Service Tenure: 4 years (including training)
- Name of Candidates: Agniveers
- Age Limit: 17.5 to 21 years (Relaxation as per Govt norms)
- Monthly Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000
- Seva Nidhi Package: Approx ₹11.71 lakh after 4 years (tax-free)
- Pension: No pension for Agniveers; only 25% selected for permanent roles
